The T.V. has so much influence over us, sometimes it's not funny. It determines our fashion, almost all trends, who we like and dislike, our political affiliations, most of what we know that goes on in the world, or how little we know. It both picks us up, and puts us down, while moving forward and backwards at the same time. Effectively we stand still, with a false sense of progress.
I can't however completely badmouth Television. It does beat reading a book... (Stupid pages don't even have pictures! gah!!). But this clip here is sadly, the truth.
When I first saw this clip, I honestly wasn't expecting this.
Do you agree or disagree with the clip?
I was raised believing that America was the best. I still hold this concept to my heart, but my patriotism has waned some. Seems like politics are trying to become some form of entertainment. Which can be good, or bad. For instance, the more entertaining they make it, the more people will tune in, and maybe take a bigger interest in the welfare of our country. However, if they lean to far into the entertainment part of it, then it will all end up just about ratings, and be about who can tell the people what they want to hear the most, without delivering on their promises.
Anyways, the clip struck me, and I figured I would share it.
