Heavenly Streams by Damo Mitchell is kind of a follow up to his other
book, Daoist Nei Gong. At least it felt that way. This review might
be a lot shorter than the other. Mostly because there isn't a whole
lot to cover. This book is a bit more narrow in it's scope, but has
a bit more depth when it comes to what it covers, which in this case,
is the Meridian system. Meridians are points all over the body that
are used to determine health, and access the energy body more
directly for change.

Book Review: Daoist Nei Gong
Daoist Nei Gong by Damo Mitchell, is a wonderful glimpse into the practice and art of Nei Gong. The book takes you through both the philosophy, principle and practice of Nei Gong, giving you what you need to get started and how to get somewhere, what you look for on your journey, what to avoid, and what experiences you can expect. Written by someone who seems to have gone through the practice and the experiences himself, it gives a first hand account of this art.
Book Review: The Magus of Strovolos
The Magus of Strovolos by Kyriacos C. Markides. This book is about the authors exposure to a spiritual healer known in the book as Daskalos, who resides in Cyprus. It covers many different paranormal abilities, as well as tries to outline much of these supernatural realms that lie just outside of our perception. Delving into consciousness and it's inner workings, religion, and even touching on God himself. The book tries to answer as many questions as possible, as the author takes you through his experiences with this healer.
Book Review: Opening the Dragon Gate
Opening the Dragon Gate by Chen Kaiguo and Zheng Shunchao and translated by Thomas Cleary. The Making of a Modern Taoist Wizard was probably the part of the title that caught my attention with this book, so I gave it a look. Before I got the book, I read some of the reviews and got to peek inside a bit to see what I was in for, and from what I got a chance to sample, I thought it was going to be great. The book sounds like it's going to take you on an adventure into a whole other world, and do so from a very involved perspective. Allowing you to see the process in true detail.
Book Review: Taoist Sexual Meditation
Taoist Sexual Meditation by Bruce Frantzis. This was another book that was recommended to me, and I have to admit, the title threw me a bit. When it was recommended to me, it was for the information within, and the practices, and principles. It took me a while to work up the courage to buy this book, mostly because of the many people that would see it on it's way to my house, and I figured they'd get the wrong impression. But as it turns out, it was worth it.
Book Review: Qigong Meditation
Qigong Meditation Embryonic Breathing by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. This was a book that was recommended to me, and since I had nothing else at the time on my reading list, I gave this book a shot. The book is about 348 pages long, and is a sizable read. It tries to be very in-depth with it's information as well as it's principles, theories and practices. The primary concern in the book is health, how to recover it, manage it, and improve it. It sets out to give you practices to improve your health, as well as the information needed to understand what you're doing and why.

Book Review: Kundalini Rising
This book in particular, Kundalini Rising by Barbara Condron, caught my attention because of the title. Kundalini has been an interest of mine for some time now. So when I saw this book, I thought it may be one of those unassuming diamonds in the rough. I was in a bookstore searching for anything that might catch my attention, when this one did just that. Before I buy any book, I have to be able to read some of it in order to judge the contents for myself, which I did. As I thumbed through it, I thought this book may have it all, from meditation, to chakras, to energy work, to of course, kundalini.

Book Review: Nei Kung
This book is more or less the sequel to the Magus of Java, titled Nei Kung by Kosta Danaos. After reading the Magus of Java, I had to read more. And when I found out Kosta had written another book on the subject, I had to get it to see if there would be more information on the subject. Any and all information at that point was a must. I was effectively hooked on exploring more into this world and it's wonders. So what exactly does Nei Kung have to offer?

Book Review: The Magus of Java
Put simply, this is probably my favorite book, ever! Out of all the books I've read, this book has several things going for it that others that I've read, just doesn't have. I'm not even sure where to begin. It's the story of the author, Kosta Danaos, and his journey and apprenticeship under an experienced master, John Chang, in the art of Nei Kung, or internal martial arts. His journey leads past conventional understanding of the world, and well into ancient wisdom, once thought long forgotten, and into potential, that most don't even believe they have!

Change Yourself from Within!
The mind can be a wondrous thing. Capable of dreaming up your greatest fantasies, or summoning your darkest nightmares. Worst, or best yet is, it's also responsible for making them real within you. Both on a psychological level, as well as a more physical one. Held deep within the mind lies the keys to your eternal freedom, or endless imprisonment, and everything in-between. So how might one go about changing one, into the other?
Keeping Life Simple!
We as people have a tendency to over complicate problems in our lives. Turning mountains out of mole hills. A few posts back, I talked about inner-conflict, which is a subject I wish to touch on again briefly, because many of the problems we are trying to change, are created by the very thing we are trying to change it with. And it only takes a little understanding to begin to change perceptions around pull back on bad habits.

Inner Conflict of the Two Minds!
One of my goals here is to try and encourage those who are interested in exploring within themselves, to do so. But, if like me, you've tried, only to be met with a series of defeats, it can be very discouraging to keep trying when something within yourself seems so against you all the time. It might not be during meditation, either. You might just feel it in general, when you try and breach your comfort zone even a little, something within seems to stand against you.
Power of Meditation!
Last time I talked a bit about how to meditate, and explained a little on how simple it was, and what meditation is for. Chi is another topic I discuss a little bit here, and meditation is of primary importance if one wishes to embark on a path to acquiring chi. A little while ago, a ran across a couple of videos that I would like to share that goes a little deeper into the relationship between meditation and energy.
